The Gapstars Academy is the learning and development environment of Gapstars. We are dedicated to ensuring everyone in the Gapstars community is the best version of themselves. We commit that every community member in Gapstars will successfully complete trainings for 2 tech skills and 2 soft skills every year, supported through the Gapstars Academy. We will also ensure that every community member has a live Moonshot which renews every 90 days.

We appoint you a dedicated Account Manager who serves as the primary liaison between your organization, our HQ in Amsterdam, and our tech hubs in Sri Lanka and Portugal. In the initial phase, your dedicated Account Manager leads and manages the recruitment cycle:
Recruitment Management:Your Account Manager organizes the job qualification, manages the planning of interviews, and oversees the recruitment phase in general. This hands-on involvement ensures a thorough and efficient recruitment process, aligning the team composition with your specific needs.
Post-recruitment, this transitions into a multifaceted role that includes:
- Day-to-Day Operations Management: Serving as primary point of contact for your operational queries, concerns, or adjustments. This involves ensuring that daily activities align with your expectations and addressing any operational challenges that may arise.
- Strategic Planning and Implementation: Collaborates with you to understand your long-term goals and actively contributes to the development and execution of strategies that drive the growth and success of your tech teams.
- Team Performance Evaluation: Regular check-ins and evaluations are conducted to gauge team performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement necessary adjustments to enhance overall productivity.
- Communication Facilitation: Serves as a key communication bridge between your organization and our tech hubs. This involves relaying feedback, facilitating meetings, and ensuring effective two-way communication to maintain a cohesive working relationship.

Post-Recruitment SupportThe commitment of our TA department doesn't end once the recruitment phase is over. We provide ongoing support to your new team members until the day of onboarding, when this is transferred to our HR department.

The recruitment phase is key to building a successful team, from kickoff to signing contracts. Our aim is to deliver a talented, well-matched team for your collaboration. Here’s an overview of the process:
- Sourcing and Headhunting: Our Talent Acquisition team identifies potential candidates based on the requirements and needs of the role, using our extensive networks and expertise.
- Candidate Qualification Calls: Longlisted candidates undergo a qualification call with our recruiter to shortlist those with the right experience and cultural fit.
- Technical Assessment: Shortlisted candidates complete a Testdome assessment and a technical interview with our engineering team to ensure their skills match your requirements.
- Candidate Profiles: We present detailed profiles of top candidates with a CV, cover letter including assessment results, and our Engineering Manager’s evaluation.
- Client Interview(s): You interview the shortlisted candidates to assess both their technical skills and cultural fit.
- Offer/Negotiation: We handle the offer and negotiation, ensuring terms align with both parties' expectations for a smooth start.
We understand that successful collaboration extends beyond assembling a skilled tech team. Therefore, we have curated a program to support you in successfully onboarding your remote team. Here's a summary of the key steps:
Week 1-2: Initial Setup
- Team Introductions: The new team meets key stakeholders and members of the client organization.
- Access & Tools: Provisioning of necessary access rights and tools required for day-to-day operations.
- Technical Environment & Codebase Exploration: The team familiarizes themselves with the client’s technical infrastructure and codebase.
- Shadowing the NL Team: New team members shadow the Netherlands-based team to understand workflows and expectations.
Week 3-5: Methodology & Development
- Agile Methodology & Project Planning: Training on Agile methodologies and setting up the project plan with the client’s team.
- Development Workflow: The team gets hands-on experience with the development workflow.
- Deployment Process: Training and practice on deployment procedures.
- Reverse Shadowing: The NL team shadows the new team to monitor progress and ensure smooth transition.
Week 6+: Continuous Integration & Culture
- Cultural Awareness Training: Training focused on improving cross-cultural communication and collaboration.
- Communicating to Win Training: Advanced communication training to enhance client-team collaboration.
Post-onboarding, we conduct regular check-ins to ensure seamless team integration and ongoing performance evaluation.
